6 March 2014 – Heerenveen, The NETHERLANDS

Shani Davis capped a bittersweet but memorable season by capturing two Overall World Cup titles at the World Cup Final.

Winner of four of seven World Cup 1000m races in 2013-2014, Shani hoisted his record sixth Overall World Cup 1000m trophy, one better than Canadian Jeremy Wotherspoon.

Recording his all-time best 40th career 1000m WC victory two weeks after a disappointing Sochi Olympics, Shani finished the year with five World Cup wins, including one at 1500m, where he finished third Overall. With 58 career WC wins, Shani moved within nine of the all-time mark held by Wotherspoon (67).

Earning the most WC points across all distances on the season, Shani won the Grand World Cup crown for the first time in his illustrious career, garnering a record 95.5 total points, including eight podium finishes in his specialty distances.

Shani also passed 11,500 points on just 175 World Cup starts.
